This project is informed by Chiara Camponeschi’s The Enabling City project and toolkit as these perspectives and ideas can inform socially engaged and place-based artistic and designer practice. On The Enabling City website, social researcher Chiara Camponeschi’s work is described as social innovation for urban sustainability and participatory governance. The publication presents “a new way of thinking about communities and change. Guided by principles such as collaboration, innovation and participation, the pioneering initiatives featured in The Enabling City attest to the power of community in stimulating the kind of innovative thinking needed to tackle complex issues ranging from participatory citizenship to urban livability.”
